Evolve reseller channel launch

Our new reseller channel and portal: your questions answered

Evolve are very proud of the new reseller channel and portal that they recently launched. It’s the result of thousands of hours of hard work that’s been going on behind the scenes and they’re excited to see it up and running. They know that, whether you’re one of our new or existing customers, you’re sure to have questions about how this development impacts you, so here you’ll find the answers. Lancashire, UK – 2023  Why has Evolve launched a reseller channel? As with everything we do, the channel and portal have been designed to better help partners unleash their potential through network technologies. Put simply, we’re working to empower our partners to conveniently access Evolve’s global SD-WAN, Business Grade Connectivity, and Guest Wi-Fi solutions, and better support their business needs.  Who is it for? It’s for like-minded businesses who share our truly collaborative approach and who want to elevate their portfolio offering to their end users. Nexus can help them by providing a single portal for Connectivity, SD-WAN, and Guest WI-FI.   How will it benefit my business? One of the biggest advantages is that all connectivity carriers are amalgamated into a single portal. This means you will only deal with a single process and workflow. You’ll also enjoy full visibility of every carrier as well as identical processes and support for each one. The streamlining this creates relieves a lot of the administrative burden, which ultimately means saving you time and money, and giving you more capacity to focus on growing other areas of your business. You will also benefit from: Our direct relationship with five Alternative Network Providers to Openreach – significantly enhancing our FTTP footprint. For example, one of our end customer’s FTTP penetration on their estate is circa 23%, vs the average UK coverage of FTTP business availability at circa 10%. Instant visibility of all faults and how they are being managed, including geographical views. Real-time order tracking and order automation through a number of UK-based infrastructure providers. True white-labelled marketing collateral covering our entire solution. An exclusive hardware relationship – we are Mako’s only Platinum Partner and their device set is the only one PCI Level 1 certified globally. Dedicated account management and a delivery co-ordinator to enhance personalisation and peer-to-peer relationships. The outstanding customer support we’re known for! We have a 24/7/365 escalation journey with a fully-manned support desk based entirely in the UK, which is multilingual for those partners expanding internationally. What’s more, because our billing platform is built in-house with ease of consumption in mind, it’s customisable by the reseller with the ability for them to API into. What about the new portal, Nexus, how does that come into play? In addition to our new dedicated reseller channel, we’ve also launched a supporting portal, serving customers through our partners across multiple sectors, including, retail, hospitality, leisure, fuel and food-to-go, who can use the portal to access the reseller channel. The portal, Nexus, has been built around internal systems to give our reseller customers a granular view and exceptional level of support. The portal is designed with ease of use in mind and can easily be tailored to any reseller’s requirements. It has a sleek interface design, built with user experience in mind and takes a maximum of six steps to place an order. Users will experience a number of valuable operational portal benefits, including ‘real-time order tracking and order automation through a number of UK-based infrastructure providers, and instant visibility of all faults and how they are being managed, including geographical views. What products are available through the portal? Our three core products are available. These include EvolveWAN to enhance network performance, reduce costs, and simplify management; EvolveISP for connectivity; and EvolveODM, offering Guest Wi-Fi that provides separate internet access. These are unrivalled in the UK. EvolveISP is our connectivity offering. In 2011 the UK had on average three devices per household, this number today is 11. This increased demand for bandwidth is putting pressure on the UK’s telecoms infrastructure, highlighting the need for new technologies that can deliver faster, more reliable, and more secure internet services. This is particularly important for businesses that rely on the internet to deliver services and engage with customers, making the need for increased bandwidth a critical factor in driving innovation and growth in the digital age. EvolveWAN uses SD-WAN tech for reliable network performance, lower costs, and simplified management. It keeps businesses operational, supporting broadband and LTE connections with dynamic routing for optimised network traffic. EvolveODM stands for Evolve ‘Online Digital Marketing’ and is our Guest Wi-Fi solution. Guest Wi-Fi can be a valuable asset for businesses looking to enhance the experience of their visitors and improve their operations. All are now available via Nexus, the online Evolve reseller portal.  Who has developed the portal and reseller channel? Both have been built entirely in-house and are the result of our 200hrs per week standard development time. By developing the channel in-house, it was easier to observe the progress of the project, and it allowed for better communication. We were able to introduce changes to the project faster, eliminate errors caused by misunderstandings and speed up implementation. What does it mean to be Mako’s only Platinum Partner? In 2009, Mako Networks became the first network management company to qualify as a PCI-certified Level 1 service provider and has demonstrated compliance every year since. We began deploying the Mako solution in 2012, alongside providing comms, cellular backup and a 24/7 support team managed service. It is this end-to-end PCI certification of the Mako System, including the CMS and integration into Evolve’s services, that makes the partnership a unique proposition. Since the start of the relationship with Mako, we have rolled out to more than 6,000 sites across 11 countries, and have an exclusive hardware relationship with Mako Networks, as its sole Platinum Partner globally. As well as forging crucial relationships with carriers and establishing a relationship with Mako Networks as its sole Platinum Partner worldwide, we have invested heavily

Evolve are shortlisted for Northwest Business of The Year by TheBusinessDesk…   Lancashire, UK – 2023 Evolve are delighted to announce that they have been shortlisted for Northwest Business of the Year Awards, this award is presented by TheBusinessDesk.Several weeks ago, the esteemed judges of the award visited Evolve’s headquarters in Wigan to discuss everything to do with the business from acquisitions to organic growth year on year. The Northwest Business of the Year is an extremely influential achievement, The Business Desk is the market leader for regional digital business news. The business provides 2.5 million emails per month generating around 1-million-page impressions. They operate across the whole of the UK. Evolve has been shortlisted for Northwest Business of the Year under the category of ‘Investment’. This is something that Evolve has devoted a lot of time and effort into over the past couple of years, aiming to create the best environment for its colleagues and a great experience for its customers. Evolve is a fast-growing, medium-sized Northwest Company. Since its inception in 2005, Evolve has experienced rapid organic growth of 43%. What sets Evolve apart is its leading innovation in the networking industry, starting with the development of its in-house Guest Wi-Fi solution, which was the first of its kind in the market. This innovation paved the way for further developments, such as the PCI-compliant support offering and leading the SD-WAN market after forming a relationship with Mako in 2012. This introduced the only Level 1 PCI device to the UK market, which is necessary to allow payments to be processed securely. Evolve is now Mako’s only platinum partner. Over the years, Evolve has invested a significant amount into the culture of the business. After the global pandemic, Evolve realised that remote working did not apply to their field of work and instead decided it was right to invest £400K in a new office space – equipped with high-tech items, modern furniture, and a very popular pool table. This investment demonstrates the company’s commitment to its employees and provides them with a place to look forward to coming to work. Evolve understand that having a good office space is crucial for the overall well-being and productivity of employees. An office that is well-designed, clean, and comfortable can help reduce stress levels and improve morale. It also provides a professional and welcoming environment, making employees feel valued and respected. Additionally, a good office space can have a positive impact on employee health, as it can encourage movement and physical activity and all of their desks and portable sit to stand to ensure they can accommodate everyone. Furthermore, a well-equipped office space can facilitate collaboration and communication among employees, which can enhance creativity and problem-solving skills.  Ultimately, investing in a good office space is an investment in the success and satisfaction of employees, which in turn can lead to greater success for the whole business. This move also helped reignite the buzzing environment of the office, which has made Evolve a special place to work and is now sort after by technical and non-technical people alike in the Northwest. Furthermore, Evolve recently completed the acquisition of a Preston-based IT services company as well as a mobile-telecoms provider. These additions to the company have resulted In Evolve being a genuine one-stop-shop managed network solutions provider. In the present day, Evolve BG now encompasses EvolveISP, EvolveWAN, EvolveODM and EvolveIT. Finally, in the recent weeks Evolve have invested heavily in producing a bespoke Reseller portal and channel, developed in-house to ensure the whole process can be commercially flexible for the customer. PCI Compliance

PCI Compliance: What, How and Why?

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) exists to help keep sensitive financial information safe from theft, hacking, and other security threats. Since all merchants that process, transmit, or store cardholder data must be compliant, it’s surprising how many misconceptions and myths there are about the standard. Here they look at the most common misconceptions, set the record straight, and provide a handy guide to becoming – and staying – compliant. I’m not an e-commerce business, so it’s not relevant to me. Wrong! Even if you store, process and transmit cardholder information through in-store point-of-sale (POS) systems, standalone terminals or virtual terminals, you need to be compliant. My business is too small to worry about PCI compliance. Compliance does not depend on the size of a merchant’s business. This is a common and potentially costly mistake that many small businesses owners make. Whether you take just one credit card every year, or thousands, you need to follow PCI regulations. We follow most of the criteria, that’s enough, right? This is another common misconception. To be compliant, merchants must meet all PCI requirements – even the ones that don’t seem relevant. Failing to meet even one standard puts customer information at risk. According to research by SecurityMetrics, merchants who experienced data compromises were not compliant with 47% or more of PCI DSS requirements. Does PCI mean I have to store cardholder data? The PCI discourages merchants and processors from storing such data. If you have a legitimate business reason to store any information on the front of a payment card, such as a customer’s name or account number, PCI DSS requires that you encrypt that data. My card processing is outsourced, so I must be compliant. Outsourcing payment processing is not a guarantee of compliance, and merchants still need to follow procedures for handling transactions and data, as well as ensure payment terminals and applications comply with PCI regulations. If in doubt, ask for a certificate of compliance from your payment processing provider. The whole thing is too complicated. We can’t entirely bust this particular myth; following the 12 PCI DSS requirements can be daunting, particularly for smaller enterprises which often lack time and resources. The best way to simplify PCI compliance is to partner with a trustworthy provider of products and services that help meet the requirements of compliance. Partnering with Evolve means benefitting from Evolve’s platinum partnership with Mako, which has the world’s only PCI level 1 compliant SD-WAN device. So, we’re not compliant – what’s the worst that can happen? Once security has been compromised, it’s incredibly difficult to regain customer trust, especially when it comes to sensitive payment information. The Forbes Insight report found 46% of surveyed companies had suffered reputational damage following a data breach. If that doesn’t deter you, then you might take notice of the financial implications, as non-compliant merchants can be fined by their acquiring bank, prevented from taking card payments and even lose its merchant status. On top of these penalties, merchants that suffer a data breach can be forced to compensate affected customers. In fact, the average global cost of a data breach reached $4.35 million globally in 2022, an all-time high and up 2.6% from the previous year. Hopefully we’ve convinced you just how important PCI compliance is, but how do you actually go about it? Step 1: Calculate the number of transactions you process annually, then compare it to the requirements of each credit card company you plan to support. Step 2: Map the flow of cardholder data, including apps, systems and people who work with credit card data. Make sure to include all credit payment platforms and storage systems that hold card data. Step3: Fill out the Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ), a tool used to validate PCI compliance, which checks if your business meets each of the 12 requirements. Remember, the experts at Evolve are on hand to help. Step 4: Fill out the Attestation of Compliance (AOC), which differs according to the PCI compliance level of your business. Step 5: Conduct a vulnerability scan to make sure you meet all standards. Step 6: Submit relevant documents, such as AOC and SAQ, to banks, credit card companies, etc. Crucially, you need to monitor compliance on a regular basis throughout the year. Becoming and remaining PCI compliant requires continual audits and precautions to make sure cardholder data is always protected from data breaches. For merchants to survive and thrive in what are very challenging times, it’s vital they remain PCI compliant. We provide customised solutions with PCI Level 1 certification for payment security as Mako Network’s only platinum partner – the only network management company in the world to qualify as a PCI-certified Level 1 service provider. Neil Muttock joins the business desk roundtable

Commercial Director Neil Muttock joins TheBusinessDesk Roundtable

Commercial Director Neil Muttock joins The Business Desk Roundtable. Evolve’s Commercial Director, Neil Muttock accompanied 11 other business professionals at a roundtable event hosted by The Business Desk. The event was chaired by industry professional Michael Taylor. The panel was brought together to discuss understanding the dynamics of workplace life, they spent the time delving into the conversation discussing how a workplace can build a culture of learning and opportunity. Lancashire, UK – 2023 The session revolved around several key themes: business circumstances, workplace design, the changing dynamics of businesses with regard to colleagues, hybrid working, and working from home. Throughout the discussion, Neil revealed some of the strongest attributes of Evolve. The conversation began with an exploration of business circumstances. Each participant took turns describing their respective businesses and their current positions. Setting the stage for the discussion, each person shared their work ethics and beliefs. Evolve’s commercial director initiated the discussion by providing an overview of Evolve, highlighting its remarkable growth of 43% year over year through a combination of organic strategies and strategic acquisitions and how this offered not only opportunity but new potential cultural challenges. He then delved into the details of a recent acquisition, explaining its significance for Evolve and painting a picture of the future. Following the acquisition, Evolve had no choice but to relocate to a larger office space, as they knew it was integral to house the group under one roof, which is where they are currently based in Wigan. During this period, Evolve not only experienced revenue growth but also expanded its workforce, which doubled within a few months and continues to grow on a weekly basis. Neil proceeded to inform the panel about Evolve’s rebranding efforts, which aimed to align the company more closely with its core values. The organisation sought to reaffirm its mission of helping multi-site brands unlock their potential through network technologies. Emphasising fairness as part of their values and ethos, Evolve ensures that team members’ shift patterns are rotated and distributed equitably, despite their service desk operating around the clock. The conversation then shifted to the importance of workplace design, which holds great significance at Evolve. They prioritise creating a collaborative, well-lit, and functional space. In 2022, Evolve invested £450K in their new office in Wigan, ensuring it was conducive to hybrid collaborative work. Being a technology-oriented company, Evolve places a strong emphasis on automation and innovative ways of working, making it crucial to provide the best possible working environment for their employees. While acknowledging the prevalence of AI in everyday life and its benefits in code refinement and development, Evolve firmly believes that AI can never fully replace human workers. Their service desk incorporates a human touch to ensure customers have a superior experience compared to interactions with robots. The conversation then turned to the evolving attitudes of businesses towards their colleagues, a subject that deeply resonates with Evolve in their day-to-day work environment. They value the unique learning and working styles of each employee and embrace cognitive diversity, fostering an inclusive environment. To facilitate this, Evolve provides breakout spaces and various meeting rooms, allowing employees to work in settings where they feel comfortable. Aligned with their commitment to cognitive diversity, Evolve takes pride in hiring individuals based on their values and personalities rather than solely focusing on experience. They believe that skills can be taught, and they aspire to work and succeed together with their employees as a cohesive team. Returning to the discussion on workplace dynamics, the conversation addressed the increasing trend of working from home. While Evolve offers flexible working arrangements when necessary, they do not consider long-term remote work to be feasible for the telecoms industry. Citing a study by the Royal Society for Public Health, they highlighted the challenges faced by individuals working from home, such as reduced connection to colleagues (67% of businesses), difficulty maintaining work-life boundaries (56%), and the need for mental health support (34%). Recognising the inherent need for collaboration, Evolve places humans at the centre of their business operations. They understand the significance of establishing a positive work culture and believe that it is the responsibility of the leadership team to shape this culture and foster a conducive working environment. The session proved to be highly beneficial for Evolve, as Neil gained a wealth of insightful information from like-minded individuals at the event. A comprehensive overview of the roundtable discussion will be available to read on The Business Desk website.  For those interested in learning more about Evolve and their values, they can visit their website. Evolve Unplugged Reseller Channel Q&A

Evolve Unplugged: Rewind – Key themes from Evolve’s Reseller Channel Launch

Youtube – Evolve Unplugged Evolve Unplugged Rewind: Key themes from Evolve’s reseller channel launch On the 20th of June, Evolve launched their highly anticipated reseller channel launch and portal, Nexus. In celebration of the momentous day, they held a live Q&A session, which is available to view here. The panel included CEO Alan Stephenson-Brown, Commercial Director, Neil Muttock, and Development Director, Adam Cole; the session was hosted by Constance Smith, Marketing Manager. The event was held to bring light to the amazing features and development story that come along with the reseller channel and portal, they wanted to highlight key information for their existing partners and any businesses interested in starting their journey with Evolve. Keep reading to find out some of the key information highlighted during the session, the full session is available to watch on our YouTube channel @Evolvebg. Lancashire, UK – 2023 Q: Who is the reseller channel designed for, and what are its main benefits? A: The reseller channel is designed to cater to the needs of various partners and resellers. Nexus, our reseller portal’s main benefits lie in providing a centralised platform for ordering SD-WAN solutions, Business-grade Connectivity, and Guest Wi-Fi. Unlike traditional partner channels that required customers to navigate multiple portals for different orders, Nexus simplifies the process by offering a single portal to access all solutions in one place. This streamlined approach significantly improves convenience for users. Q: How does the Nexus portal contribute to the overall reseller channel? A: The Nexus portal plays a crucial role in the reseller channel by encompassing all three solutions within its platform. Emphasising ease of consumption, the portal enables a six-step order process that covers all components. Beginning with Business-Grade Connectivity, users gain access to a wide range of connectivity options, from ADSL to high-speed lines of up to 10 Gbps. Additionally, the portal offers various hardware options, making it a comprehensive solution for resellers. Q: Why was the name “nexus” chosen for the portal? A: The name “Nexus” holds two significant meanings. Firstly, it symbolises the connection between different entities, representing partnerships with various resellers and the aim to expand that network further. Secondly, it references a central or focal point, indicating that the portal serves as a single hub where resellers can start their day. From order management to fault management to the simplicity of ordering the complete solution, Nexus provides a clear and comprehensive platform for resellers. Q: Are there any resellers currently signed up for the reseller channel? Who are the current partners? A: MLR Networks is our first partner to gain access to the reseller channel. They are a local company based in Runcorn, located in the northwest. We have worked collaboratively with MLR Networks to understand their specific requirements and ensure the portal’s functionalities meet their needs effectively. We are expanding this reseller customer base currently and are excited to welcome new, strategic partners to the channel.  Q: Could you explain the development process behind the Nexus portal? A: Once we decided to create the portal, we quickly realised that we could integrate it seamlessly with our existing systems, leveraging our extensive experience in developing our internal systems. Our in-house development team, which dedicates approximately 200 hours per week to development, aimed to prioritise the customer experience by focusing on the speed and ease of the order process. The functionality of the portal aims to support our customers’ ongoing business growth. Q: Adam mentioned his passion for owning the whole delivery process. Can you elaborate on that and the benefits of having an in-house development team? A: We have always been committed to owning the entire delivery process, which includes developing all our solutions in-house. This approach allows us to have full control over the development process and adapt to the varying needs of our partners. Off-the-shelf products often fall short of meeting specific requirements, and having our own development team enables us to tailor solutions to individual partners’ needs. We can customise the portal to align with partners’ workflows, processes, and support guides, ensuring ease of use and transparency. Q: In terms of integration and coverage, what capabilities does the reseller channel offer? A: Our development process enables us to quickly onboard new Internet Service Providers (ISPs), resulting in fast integration capabilities. Currently, we have integrated with eight carriers, providing us with extensive UK coverage. Our strategic alignment with partners and carriers allows us to offer integration possibilities with nearly any entity. With the reseller channel, we can perform address searches within 10 seconds, ensuring efficient and comprehensive service. Q: Our company values include being proactive. How does this value translate to customer support and delivery? A: Proactivity is crucial to our customer support function. In the direct space, we have demonstrated our commitment by taking ownership of 86% of all support tickets raised last year. This means that when primary connections experience faults and fail to switch over to backup lines within the device, we notify customers before they are even aware of the issue. By being proactive in the background, we ensure uninterrupted connectivity for our end customers, showcasing our dedication to excellent support and service.   End About Evolve Business Group and Evolve Evolve Business Group is an independently owned company that specialises in providing end-to-end IT and managed network solutions to a range of businesses. Lancashire, UK – 2023 Evolve’s managed network solution includes three key sections, EvolveISP (Connectivity), EvolveWAN (SD-WAN) and EvolveODM (Guest Wi-Fi). Evolve’s mission is to help multi-site brand unleash their potential through network technologies. Businesses across all sectors need reliable and secure communication, the majority of businesses will rely on connected to keep their business in action. In the past, businesses have become compliant with network breakdowns and had no choice but to work around the loss of connection. When these issues were raised, often businesses were told that it was a local broadband related issue and that there was little to be done. Evolve believe that multi-site connectivity should be a gain, not a pain. Their managed network solution includes EvolveWAN featuring a 4G backup, this means that when the primary connection is lost, the 4G Sim will automatically trigger, providing a efficient failover solution so that downtime is minimised. When 4G is activated, the 24 x 7 x 365 support centre at Evolve will be automatically notified so that the issue can be resolved. Often this process can be completed without the customer even being aware of an initial issue. By utilising Evolve’s managed services, businesses are able to dramatically reduce downtime, producing an increase in uptime from 82% to 99%. In one example, a customer saw a weekly increase of £150K in their overall financial performance.
