Our new reseller channel and portal: your questions answered

Evolve reseller channel launch
Reading Time: 6 minutes

Evolve are very proud of the new reseller channel and portal that they recently launched. It’s the result of thousands of hours of hard work that’s been going on behind the scenes and they’re excited to see it up and running. They know that, whether you’re one of our new or existing customers, you’re sure to have questions about how this development impacts you, so here you’ll find the answers.

Lancashire, UK – 2023

Why has Evolve launched a reseller channel?

As with everything we do, the channel and portal have been designed to better help partners unleash their potential through network technologies. Put simply, we’re working to empower our partners to conveniently access Evolve’s global SD-WAN, Business Grade Connectivity, and Guest Wi-Fi solutions, and better support their business needs.

 Who is it for?

It’s for like-minded businesses who share our truly collaborative approach and who want to elevate their portfolio offering to their end users. Nexus can help them by providing a single portal for Connectivity, SD-WAN, and Guest WI-FI.

How will it benefit my business?

One of the biggest advantages is that all connectivity carriers are amalgamated into a single portal. This means you will only deal with a single process and workflow. You’ll also enjoy full visibility of every carrier as well as identical processes and support for each one. The streamlining this creates relieves a lot of the administrative burden, which ultimately means saving you time and money, and giving you more capacity to focus on growing other areas of your business.

You will also benefit from:

  • Our direct relationship with five Alternative Network Providers to Openreach – significantly enhancing our FTTP footprint. For example, one of our end customer’s FTTP penetration on their estate is circa 23%, vs the average UK coverage of FTTP business availability at circa 10%.
  • Instant visibility of all faults and how they are being managed, including geographical views.
  • Real-time order tracking and order automation through a number of UK-based infrastructure providers.
  • True white-labelled marketing collateral covering our entire solution.
  • An exclusive hardware relationship – we are Mako’s only Platinum Partner and their device set is the only one PCI Level 1 certified globally.
  • Dedicated account management and a delivery co-ordinator to enhance personalisation and peer-to-peer relationships.
  • The outstanding customer support we’re known for! We have a 24/7/365 escalation journey with a fully-manned support desk based entirely in the UK, which is multilingual for those partners expanding internationally.

What’s more, because our billing platform is built in-house with ease of consumption in mind, it’s customisable by the reseller with the ability for them to API into.

What about the new portal, Nexus, how does that come into play?

In addition to our new dedicated reseller channel, we’ve also launched a supporting portal, serving customers through our partners across multiple sectors, including, retail, hospitality, leisure, fuel and food-to-go, who can use the portal to access the reseller channel. The portal, Nexus, has been built around internal systems to give our reseller customers a granular view and exceptional level of support.

The portal is designed with ease of use in mind and can easily be tailored to any reseller’s requirements. It has a sleek interface design, built with user experience in mind and takes a maximum of six steps to place an order.

Users will experience a number of valuable operational portal benefits, including ‘real-time order tracking and order automation through a number of UK-based infrastructure providers, and instant visibility of all faults and how they are being managed, including geographical views.

What products are available through the portal?

Our three core products are available. These include EvolveWAN to enhance network performance, reduce costs, and simplify management; EvolveISP for connectivity; and EvolveODM, offering Guest Wi-Fi that provides separate internet access. These are unrivalled in the UK.

EvolveISP is our connectivity offering. In 2011 the UK had on average three devices per household, this number today is 11. This increased demand for bandwidth is putting pressure on the UK’s telecoms infrastructure, highlighting the need for new technologies that can deliver faster, more reliable, and more secure internet services. This is particularly important for businesses that rely on the internet to deliver services and engage with customers, making the need for increased bandwidth a critical factor in driving innovation and growth in the digital age.

EvolveWAN uses SD-WAN tech for reliable network performance, lower costs, and simplified management. It keeps businesses operational, supporting broadband and LTE connections with dynamic routing for optimised network traffic.

EvolveODM stands for Evolve ‘Online Digital Marketing’ and is our Guest Wi-Fi solution. Guest Wi-Fi can be a valuable asset for businesses looking to enhance the experience of their visitors and improve their operations.

All are now available via Nexus, the online Evolve reseller portal.

Who has developed the portal and reseller channel?

Both have been built entirely in-house and are the result of our 200hrs per week standard development time. By developing the channel in-house, it was easier to observe the progress of the project, and it allowed for better communication. We were able to introduce changes to the project faster, eliminate errors caused by misunderstandings and speed up implementation.

What does it mean to be Mako’s only Platinum Partner?

In 2009, Mako Networks became the first network management company to qualify as a PCI-certified Level 1 service provider and has demonstrated compliance every year since.

We began deploying the Mako solution in 2012, alongside providing comms, cellular backup and a 24/7 support team managed service. It is this end-to-end PCI certification of the Mako System, including the CMS and integration into Evolve’s services, that makes the partnership a unique proposition.

Since the start of the relationship with Mako, we have rolled out to more than 6,000 sites across 11 countries, and have an exclusive hardware relationship with Mako Networks, as its sole Platinum Partner globally.

As well as forging crucial relationships with carriers and establishing a relationship with Mako Networks as its sole Platinum Partner worldwide, we have invested heavily in integrating with third-party operators. While the majority of third parties would not usually allow external companies into their data centres, we are now trusted by more than 60 gateways, hosts and platforms to work directly within their data centres.

What options are available for customising and tailoring the portal to the specific needs of customers?

The possibilities are endless – Nexus is totally customisable from a layout perspective and, most importantly, across each stage of the customer journey.

This means the user experience can be defined by specific requirements, such as data representation, presentation of solutions, data input fields and marketing collateral. Additionally, data can be manipulated and fed from our internal systems at mass or to a partner’s specific requirements.

To achieve all this, not only have we invested and continue to invest over 200 hours per week in development, but our dedicated account management team is always on hand to listen to our partners’ specific requirements and act as the conduit into our development team.

Thanks to ongoing investment in the development team, we continue to work with our suppliers across each component of our solution to ensure regular functionality updates are shared with partners to give them as much information as possible and support interactions with their own customers.

How does using your reseller portal overcome the challenges we’re facing?

There are a number of issues unique to resellers in the franchise and multi-site business space, not least of which is that rapid expansion means quickly outgrowing broadband vendors and capabilities.

Multi-vendor management issues can also arise when various locations rely on different service providers, and franchises may struggle to integrate multiple systems and scale their networks quickly enough to meet operational requirements and launch dates. And, as a franchise expands, so too does its cyber threat landscape, and brands may not be able to keep pace with increasingly aggressive and inventive adversaries and security risks.

By creating a multi-product enabled reseller portal, we offer ease of purchasing multiple solution options – SD-WAN, Business Grade Connectivity, and Guest WIFI to tackle all these problems.

Will you be adding any further products or any additional capabilities to the reseller portal?

There’s no rest for the wicked, as our portal’s development team continues to work on the channel at pace and before long it will carry a growing number of products, include services for mobile and IT in the next 12-18 months. Watch this space!
